Jay Leno helps out former intern David with bathroom and nursery renovation on Celebrity IOU on HGTV
- The 73-year-old comedian enlisted the help of Drew and Jonathan Scott, 45, after meeting them at his garage stuffed with vintage cars and motorcycles
- Jay said David was there for him when he suffered severe burns to his neck and face from a November garage fire
- The TV star helped with demolition even thought he was recovering from a recent motorcycle accident in which he broke his collarbone and ribs
Jay revealed that he met David when he was a teenager through his father who restored fire engines and he became his intern 14 years ago before becoming a director-producer.
The former talk show host shared that David has become like a son to him and was there for him when he suffered severe burns to his neck and face from the November garage fire.
'When I had my accident, you know, I set myself on fire there, [David] would pick my wife up and bring her to the hospital and bring food and do things like that. I think that's what friendship is. I don't have a son, but I think this is what it would be like,' Leno said.
